About me

About Me.

My name is Katie, I started my career working with dogs in 2016. I was attending university studying veterinary nursing & behavior when I heard about a Border collie due to be PTS if a home wasn't found. I ended up leaving uni to take her on.

Nell was 5 years old and very damaged, training her ignited a passion for helping misunderstood dog's and led me to become qualified in canine behaviour, while working as a trainee in a dog training kennels.

From there I have trained & walked dogs professionally for 8 years, including brief periods working in both rescue and security dog training kennels. Nell passed away in 2021, and I shortly after took on an 8 week old collie from a bad breeding situation. Who is my current nervous girl, Ember.

After seeing the positive effects Mantrailing and other scent based training can have on dogs from all walks of life, I couldn't wait to get involved. Ember had been attending mantrailing from 13 weeks of age, and it did so much for her confidence. Not only that, but the community is lovely, and entirely force free. I qualified with MTG as an instructor nearly 3 years ago, and have loved every second of teaching other since.

I am passionate about enriching dog's lives, through walks, scent-work and training,  using my experience and wealth of knowledge of specific breed traits and canine behaviour to provide your dog with the best care.
